Stourton Caundle Golf Society Monthly Report – June 2023

Another gorgeous, warm early Summer day today, although humid and clammy out on the course. The sun was out most of the time, the birds were in full song, the greens watered and true. Perfect conditions for a round of golf, and 28 of us made it out for this Fathers Day game to prove how ideal it was. We played all the short holes again, as several among us had to get back to Fathers day meals. It was great to see a few sons bring their dads out as well. The Des Austen trophy this month was for nearest the water on the 5^th, without being in it.

Our stand out winner with 21 points was Ben Pattle, whose game is coming along quickly and nicely. Showed his dad how the game was played as well. A two shot cut just in time for the golf day

Our team winners were team Wood Smackers, with 46 points. Congrats to Marty Bond, Matt Long, Ben Pattle and Brian Pattle.

The Des Austin Challenge was won by your author, David Conduit, with an amazing shot that few golfers have in the locker. A perfect drive was literally inches short of the water. Shaun Read deserves a mention for being only a couple of inches further away, but not quite close enough for the prize
