Stourton Caundle Golf Society Monthly Report – December 2022
After a week of temperatures well below zero, inevitably the weather broke on the morning of our golf.
There was a light, freezing rain all morning, and with the ground still rock solid, it made golf a real challenge. That’s probably why only nine hardy golfers were present this morning.
However, these were all real men, not put off by a little freezing rain and icy wind.
Unlike you other wimps. We played the short nine holes (1,2,3,13,14,6,16,17.9), and the team competition took a slightly different format.
One score only counting on the 1st, 4th and 7th holes, 2 scores counting on the 2nd, 5th and 8th, and all 3 scores counting on the 3rd, 6th & 9th.

Jim Ackland won again this month, with 16 points in tough conditions. Don’t worry though, he’s been cut another 2 shots. We’ll slow him down

Team winners were Peter, Paul & Jim Too, with 32 points. Well done to Pete Blundell, Paul Wavish & Jim Ackland.

The Des Austen challenge was won by Olly Wilkins, who smiles too much for someone with the lowest score on the day, just 6 points. He also won a special Ford Farm Cheddar truckle. Thanks Mutley.
