Stourton Caundle Golf Society Monthly Report – February 2022

Damp underfoot, and with the wind still around from the fading Storm Eunice, it however was fairly mild. Groups were ‘pick you own’ this month, and we played the front 9 holes. The clubhouse continues to improve, with a new massive window now put in over the 9th green. The Des Austen challenge this month was a mystery competition until the round was over.

Joint winners this month, both on 17 points on an otherwise low scoring month, Congrats to Matt Long (pictured with President Terry Taylor) and John Conduit (not pictured). A look at the trophy and a 2 stroke cut are your rewards

Team winners were team Stourton Curlers (I’m sure nothing to do with the hair styling product), who won with 37 points, 7 full points ahead of second place. Congrats to Marty Stone, Mutley Rose, Paul Wavish and Matt Long

The Des Austen challenge was won by Paul Wavish. It was awarded for the highest Gross shots. Having retired from the Post Office in the previous few days, he’ll have time now to get some practice in. The 62 shots it took him around 9 holes was rather embarrassing.
